14" Big Wheels. Performance is Everything.
A bigger wheel simply performs better than a small wheel. With the 14”/36 cm big wheels you’ll manage obstacles and rough ground, and your comfort level will increase on any uneven surface.
Why bigger wheels? »
Foldable Frame. Easy Storage.
By pressing the buttons on the telescopic folding stay, you can fold the Veloped in two steps. When folded half-way, it still rolls when you push it and you can easily pass narrow doorways etc.

Trionic Climbing Wheel. Conquer All Obstacles.
With the unique and patented Trionic Climbing Wheel you’ll easily overcome up to 15 cm high obstacles like curbs, rocks and roots, without having to lift the Veloped at all.
Why bigger wheels? »Slide the Seat Forward. Enjoy an Upright Posture.
When the seat is slid forward the Veloped provides plenty of walking space within the frame. This means that you can walk closer to the grip handles, which automatically results in a more upright and ergonomically correct body posture. The U-shaped and ergonomic grip bar offers several grip positions, and while seated it acts as a back support. The grip bar can be freely height-adjusted in order to suit your body height perfectly.

The Veloped has a unique 3-wheel design, but as you can see it has in fact four wheels. It’s aimed to be used as a walking aid, especially for people with the desire to be physically active outdoors. Developed with a focus on walking and facilitating access for the user, the Veloped is one of a kind. Its main characteristic is a dual front wheel with the capacity to overcome obstacles up to 15 cm high (14" wheels). The force required to overcome a smaller obstacle is also greatly reduced, when compared to a traditional wheel. The 3-wheel design, coupled with the front wheel’s suspension and the air-filled tyres, increases both comfort and accessibility on all uneven surfaces.
The Veloped is tested and approved according to the international standard ISO-11199-2:2005, for a maximum user weight of 150 kg.

Safety〈〈
- Both brakes should be locked in parking mode before you use the seat.
- Before you start walking with the Veloped, make sure it’s completely unfolded.
- Be extra careful in steep terrain and on slanting ground.
- The stability of the Veloped is tested with a basket load of 5 kg. If you load additional weight to the basket, make sure to distribute the weight evenly in the basket.
Correct Grip Height〈〈

How to set the correct height of your Veloped
Many rollator users set the grips too high, thinking that it will promote a more upright posture. But this actually worsens the posture, and it affects the stability negatively.
You can determine the correct Veloped grip height by doing as follows, as recommended by all physiotherapists and all rollator manufacturers:
- Stand upright with your back as straight as possible, with your shoes on and with your arms hanging in a relaxed state along your body (elbow slightly bent).
- Measure the vertical distance from the floor to the wrist bone = recommended grip height.
With the grips at wrist height:
- You do not have to raise your shoulders, and you can unload a greater part of your body weight.
- You can walk closer to the hand grips, which results in a more upright body posture.
- A more vertical weight distribution (downwards) improves both the stability and the brake performance.
First Time Use〈〈

1. Attach the rear wheels to the frame’s rear axle holes by pressing the black button in the centre of the wheel and then pushing the axle all the way into the axle hole. Release the push button.

2. Check that the wheels are properly attached by pulling/pushing them sideways.

3. Attach the front wheel suspension to the front bottom end of the frame in the same manner, i.e. press the black button at the bottom of the axle and press the axle into the axel hole from underneath. Release the push button.
4. Check that the front wheel is securely fastened by lifting the frame from the surface and pulling the front wheel downwards.
5. Open the quick-release levers and adjust the grip height as described in the chapter “Correct Grip Height”.
Walking Mode 〈〈

Unfold the Veloped by pulling the gripbar handles sideways, away from each other.

Check that the Veloped locks in walking mode; when unfolding it make sure you hear a click from the telescopic stay locking into position.

The seat can be slid forward and rearward. Push it forward to obtain maximum walking space.
Before using the seat, reaching the basket or folding the Veloped, pull the seat rearwards.
Folding the Veloped 〈〈

Pull the seat to the rear.

Press the button on the right of the telescopic stay.
While holding the button pushed, lift the right or the left hand grip a little and fold the frame halfways.

Press the other button on the left of the telescopic stay.

While holding the button pushed, lift the right or the left hand grip a little and fold the frame completely together.
Parking Brake 〈〈
You can engage the parking brake in 3 different ways.
Option 1: Push the lower red parking trigger downwards with your index finger, while you pull the brake lever at the same time. Make sure that the parking brake is engaged, and that the Veloped does not move.
Option 2: Pull the upper red parking trigger rearwards with your thumb, while you pull the brake lever at the same time. Make sure that the parking brake is engaged.
Option 3: Use both hands. Pull the upper red parking trigger rearwards with one hand, while you pull the brake lever with your other hand. Make sure that the parking brake is engaged.
To release the parking brake, brake in the same manner as for using the motion brake.
Grip Height Adjustment 〈〈

Release both quick-release levers by folding them outwards.
Adjust the grips to the suggested height, the most adequate being the vertical distance from the wrist to the ground when standing with the arms hanging freely. Use help to measure!

NOTE: The easiest way to adjust the gripbar is when sitting on the seat, this way you can see the height indication marks clearly, thus simplifying height adjustment.

Lock both quick-release levers by folding them inwards.

NOTE! Do not operate the quick-release levers like wing nuts or screws. The quick-release levers can be replaced with screws and nuts if there is a risk that the user accidentally releases the levers while using the Veloped.
Grip Angle Adjustment 〈〈
The angle of the grips can be adjusted so that you get a comfortable hand position and an optimal support.

1. Loosen the screw on the rear end of the grip with a 4 mm Allen key.

2. Turn/rotate the grip to your chosen angle.

3. Tighten the screw on the rear end of the grip with a 4 mm allen key.
Brake Adjustment 〈〈

1. If the brakes work poorly, loosen the adjustment screw on each brake lever (counter-clockwise) and lock it in position by screwing the lock-nut towards the handle (clockwise).

Contact your retailer, or the person responsible for servicing your Trionic Veloped, if the brakes still work poorly.
Removing/Installing the Rear Wheels 〈〈
The rear wheels are removable to simplify transportation of the Veloped.

To remove the wheel, press the black button at the centre of the wheel and pull the wheel off.

To attach the wheel, press the black button at the centre of the wheel and push the wheel axle into the axle hole. Release the button when the wheel is in its end position.
Hold the tyre and push/pull the wheel back and forth laterally to check if the wheel is properly secured.
Removing/Installing the Front Wheel 〈〈
The front wheel suspension is removable to simplify transportation of the Veloped.

Press the black button under the front hinge to release the front wheel suspension.

To remove the entire wheel suspension, lift the front end of the frame while pulling the wheel suspension downwards.

To install the front wheel suspension, lift the front end of the frame, press the black button and push the wheel axle into the axle hole placed under the frame. Release the black push button.
Change Front Wheel Setting: Easy-steering mode/Lower position:/Direction-steady mode/Upper position: 〈〈
The wheel has two different settings: one for easy steering and one for direction-steady mode. There is an adjustment handle on the front wheel, placed between the wheels, that can be shifted between these two settings.
Easy-steering mode/Lower position::
Offers easy turning with retained climbing capacity.
Direction-steady mode/Upper position::
Offers increased climbing capacity, suspension on uneven surfaces and a higher directional stability. The Veloped is more difficult to steer, but it performs better off-road.

Turn the front wheel 180 degrees for easier access to the adjustment handle.

1.Grab the left wheel with your left hand and lift the Veloped front end slightly off the ground.
2. While holding the Veloped lifted with your left hand, grab the red knob with your right hand, and pull it outwards (towards you).
3. Slide the adjustor (right hand) either downwards or upwards. It is important that you slide the adjustor to its very bottom or upper end position.
4. Release the red knob, and it will spring back and lock the front wheel to your chosen setting.
Removing/Attaching the basket 〈〈
The basket of the Trionic Veloped has a 22-litre loading capacity. It has a small zippered pocket at the rear end for valuables and smaller objects. The Veloped basket is removable, and is attached to the frame basket rails with three velcro sections.

1. Wrap the rear velcro flaps around the rails from underneath, between the frame and the basket rail. Fold them inwards and fix the velcro sections on the inner of the basket lining.

2. Attach the front velcro flap in the same manner.
3. If necessary, adjust the velcro sections to ensure that the basket is properly fastened.
NOTE! Make sure to insert the plastic plate into the bottom sleeve of the basket before attaching the basket to the frame.
Removing/Installing the Seat 〈〈
The Veloped’s sliding seat is comprised of a seat base and a removable cover fixed with nine push buttons.

1. Hold the seat cover with the text Trionic to the right. Wrap the long flap between the telescopic stay and the seat base.

2. Attach the three front push buttons of the long flap to the seat base.

3. Press the three push buttons on the short flap onto the seat base.

4. Finally, press the three last push buttons of the long flap onto the short flap.

Customer Reviews
I can't write down everything that's good, it would be too much, but I also have to mention the customer service. I had a question and received an answer right away.
My conclusion: keep it up and thank you very much. U. Gräf
About me: I'm 84 and had a very active, not to say athletic, lifestyle, so it was a bitter pill to swallow when I developed a balance problem and lost a lot of muscle strength.
Nevertheless, I am determined to continue being as active as possible! So I bought a Trionic Veloped Trek with the 14-inch wheels and all-terrain tyres.
After a cautious initial practise on local urban pavements and navigating the interiors of shops large and small, my next test was to get on and off our MerseyRail trains (still operating very old rolling stock on this line, with a high step up or down). I found a technique: brakes on, pull back to lift front wheel off ground, brakes off and roll in.
I was ready for the pine forest trails; no problems here though long uphill slopes were of course hard work. Going downhill I found tricky as the Veloped tended to yaw as it's not possible to apply both brakes evenly. (Same problem in the city on extended station and department store ramps – a light touch is needed).
I decided to test 'The Beast' by going off-trail, into the pine woods. This offered an altogether tougher challenge; the slopes I could manage with care (not to tip over sideways!) But narrow paths filled with pine cones were hard, even for the 24” wheels, probably because the cones are loose.
The biggest challenge by far is to get through loose sand. Long stretches of loose sand (sand traps!) were very hard indeed for me on one walk but another day I managed a short section to get onto the firm sand of the beach and was rewarded with long stretches of easy walking and glorious views!
I wish I could take some photos of this trip!
On public transport: I've had no problems storing the Trek on our local bus routes but would hesitate to take it on busier city routes.
One note of caution: When putting small items into the pocket at the back of the basket, it's very easy to miss and not realise it's dropped on the floor. Also, the 'rain cover' gets tangled with small items like keys. I haven't worked out how this rain cover is to be firmly fastened at the front when in use.
And so far, I haven't found a use for the extra storage bags provided with the Trek, so I probably should have bought the Tour version, which is a Trek without the extra bags. (I was put off by the illustration, yet they are both the same; the Trek photo just looked more like me).
My Veloped has given me confidence to expand my horizons.
It has already proved to be an invaluable aid to carrying out garden tasks and also provides vital safeguard against losing balance.
I ordered my Trionic Veloped Trek on a Monday and it arrived in the UK on Friday as promised. It is absolutely marvellous, sturdy and well-engineered, easy to operate and copes with uneven terrain effortlessly. It has given me the freedom and confidence to explore the beautiful forests and beaches in the county where I live, and in 'urban' mode, I can explore the towns and cities too!
Thank you so much
Pam
I just got back from a walk here in Sundsvall close to the new E4 bridge by the bay.
The bridge won't be finished until 2014, so here there are temporary dirt roads mixed with paved segments.
The Veloped worked just perfectly. I was out 45 minutes but took some small breaks a few times on the chair.
I take medication for my blood pressure and clot risk on the metal valve that I got surgically in 2010.
The side effects are now constant dizziness and some difficulties with my balance. Otherwise declared healthy.
I've tried walking poles, but they aren't good enough for me.
My inactivity has led to weight gain and poor shape.
I am 62 years of age but recently retired.
After yesterday's walk, I'm absolutely lyrical.
Am looking forward to walks with my wife and grandchildren in the forest and nature like before.
Thank you for your amazing innovation. It will improve my life and the lives of many others.
I warmly recommend the Veloped to everyone who needs a walking support.
The Veloped Trek is every bit as sturdy, well-engineered and built and suited to the terrain where I live (rural) as I had hoped. Thank you for providing the means by which I can stay mobile and (hopefully) keep my illness at bay.
Had several walkers, none worked for me, but this one, on the contrary, is simply fantastic. With it, I am now starting to walk outside, have freedom feel and secure stability. Not a problem with it, is so easy to move and get about. I am now starting to get my photography going again.
It’s so light to move and get over curbs and uneven ground. I can walk on again, and always feel in control, plus, if I need a rest, I just put the breaks on, turn around, sit for a while, and then off we go.
Can walk on my own with it and don’t need assistance to walk to and in the park or shop, etc.
It's super easy to use as well as to adjust the height, etc. Only the seat could be a bit more comfortable. It is very narrow and therefore not as comfortable as my old rollator.
All in all, I can only recommend it.
The handlebar of the Veloped is too short, not even a dog leash or a shopping bag can be hung on it. The basket is also too small!
Engaging the parking brake is very cumbersome, in fact you need both hands. In the mountains: hold the walker, hold the dog's leash, then put on the brakes too!
Transportation: it is too big for a normal car, then you no longer have space for your vacation suitcases. Added to this is the constant assembly and disassembly of the Veloped, which is very difficult to follow without a person to assist you!
Suitable for flat countryside, but you won't need it there: I have a Topro outdoor walker, which isn't bad either.
Overall, I am very disappointed and sadly I would not buy it back as my wishes remained unfulfilled. It's really a shame!!
The product is very easy to assemble and to disassemble, and therefore to transport. I was also able to carry it overseas on a flight to Australia recently. I purchased a purpose-made bag in which the disassembled rollator could be easily kept in the hold.
If I have one criticism, it is that when going downhill, the rollator's weight and momentum means that it sometimes gets away from me, so that I have to brake and my feet had to catch up with it on several occasions. Maybe a built-in slowing anti-gravity mechanism could be attached in future designs?
But overall, this is a super product to help liberate mobility compromised people and enable them to live a healthy life outdoors!
It's very stable/robust and we feel completely safe with it when we go walking on uneven (forest) trails.
It's not cheap, but if you're looking for a really stable rollator, I can only recommend the Veloped!
A purchase for life!
Nice greetings, Katrin und Bernd Seifert
Highly recommended to all those who love to go for walks in the woods and fields!
I am, now, able to wander the woodlands and traverse grasslands too. Simple pleasures which have evaded me for too long. Now, in my 70s, my life is taking its second wind.
My very grateful thanks to everybody involved, in whatever manner, who have, in whatever way, contributed to help me find life outside the home, once more.
Warm regards,
Kelsang Jorlam
So, it was very fast!
Our Veloped was carefully packed and, when we unpacked it, was not damaged! We did not have any problems with the assembly either! See video and videos on YouTube.
The Veloped is very big and might be too bulky for some people.
But if you are looking for a great, stable rollator, I would ONLY recommend the Veloped.
If you have the money, of course, because it is not cheap! The Veloped is robust, and we have a very safe feeling when driving!
So, you do not have to fear that something could break off when you drive over bumps.
I can only say positive things about the communication by email with Mr. Kindberg.
We came to the Veloped because my mother fell and had pain in her knees while walking. My mother was looking for a walking aid, a rollator. We rattled through several medical supply stores and my mother picked one with a backrest. She did not order it yet, but she drove one around in the store and was satisfied.
My sister, though, knew a friend, who had a Veloped for years and never had to repair anything during that time. Her friend is completely satisfied with it.
My sister persuaded our mother to take a look at the friend’s Veloped and to test drive it.
Said and done!
My mother immediately changed her mind and bought the Veloped.
I do not regret buying it for a second and feel very comfortable and very safe with it!
So, I clearly recommend it!
I will send a photo when the weather will be better...
Now I have the Veloped-Tour with 14er tyres!
(So far, I do not get the whole 1,5-hour tour - but I am slowly getting closer).
It is a revelation - even with the greatest expectation, I could not have imagined it to be so well off-road and safe.
Paths full of roots both uphill and downhill are not a problem. I walk safely, upright and with a view of my surroundings, sometimes chatting with fellow travellers.
I am free again! (a very happy feeling).
Actually, my review would end here
- But I still list the "important" things for me:
• Weight - without wheels no problem, I can easily get it into the car by myself (my trunk is higher, ancient SUV!)
• Wheels - easy to remove and attach with almost just one movement
• Folding mechanism - easy to use - simple to store, fits in lifts, cars, buses, and trains
• Seat - comfortable, good even for longer breaks (with backrest easy to put up)
• Handle height - quickly adjustable with one movement (higher position is better when going downhill)
• Off-road/city mode can be adjusted quickly and easily - works great
• Basket - holds everything important (including medium-sized purchases – and with my Veloped I could even transport very heavy things, up to 150 kg).
"I love my rhino (after rhinoceros): head (wheel) down and run full power!"
And finally:
• Very, very friendly consultancy in German; by phone with Stefan Kindberg
• Delivery: Ordered Tuesday afternoon, arrived Friday noon
Do I need to mention that I will of course order future items again from TRIONIC without thinking twice?
Gisela Kühn
Whoever packed it for shipping had attached the accessories I ordered and the bags that come with the Trionic Trekker are perfect for my gear.
Sincerely yours

I couldn't help but test the Veloped in the most difficult terrain conditions. A very steep narrow forest path with deeply washed-out slots in the middle, which require a planned approach, could still be mastered by my «Rollf».
Now I am curious to see how it will prove itself in continuous use.
